FAQs:
Q: What instruments do you teach at Belmont Music Studio?
A: We teach a multitude of instruments here at BMS: Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Piano, Drums/Percussion, Violin, Viola, Cello, Upright Bass, Electric Bass, Ukulele, Banjo, Mandolin, Clarinet, Saxophone, Flute, French Horn, Trumpet, Bassoon, Oboe, Audio Engineering and Composition/Songwriting.
Q: How young can I start my child in music?
A: We have TOT classes that cater to 2-5 year olds. They are 20 minute music introduction classes. They focus on rhythm, piano, and ukulele. This is a way your child can get a basic foundation of music to build off of.
Q: Does my child need an instrument to start the lessons?
A: Not necessarily. If it’s piano, guitar or ukulele, we have extras they can borrow during the lessons. Although, we do suggest they get an instrument of their own soon after starting so they can practice at home. This ensures progression week to week.
Q: How does tuition work?
A: Tuition is done monthly and ranges from $140-$350 each month depending on if there are 4 lesson days that month or 5 lesson days. It breaks down to $45 per 30 minutes. Lessons are once a week, same time, same instructor each week (we will provide a substitute if your instructor is absent that day).
Q: What happens if I need to take a month or so break from lessons?
A: Let us know about 30 days before the break and we will make sure to put a hold on the auto pay you have with us. If there are any lessons paid for, but not yet taken, we will keep a record of those for you to use when you come back.
Q: What happens if I need to stop my lessons for an undetermined amount of time?
A: As long as you let us know 30 days prior to ending the lessons, we will be able to put a stop payment on your auto pay and you will not be billed for the next month.
Q: What happens if I don’t tell you until the middle of the month and I still have a couple lessons left that I already paid for, can I get a refund?
A: We are sorry, but no. We need to make sure all of the lessons paid for are taken. This ensures stability for our instructors.
Q: What is the $70 enrollment fee for?
A: This fee helps with overhead, our scheduling software, and solidifies your commitment. It helps us continually improve the technology that your children will be playing on/with. Also helps pay for our friendly receptionists.
Q: What is your cancellation/make-up policy?
A: As long as 24 hour notice is given, we can fit you in for a make-up no problem! There are some cases that we will make exceptions but if we notice that you are coming up with wild excuses every week we will catch on and the short notice will end up being a forfeited lesson.
